Workshop Registration FAQs

To view the workshops being offered on a particular campus, please use the Workshop heading listed in the menu above. If you have a specific question regarding registering for a workshop, or simply do not know how to sign up, please read through the frequently asked questions below or send an e-mail.

Q. How do I register for a technology training workshop?
A. If you would like to attend a training workshop, you must register for the session by phone or e-mail (see the contact information here). Seating is limited. When you register for a workshop, please be sure to include the following information:
Your name
Telephone number
Whether you are faculty or staff
Department and division (A&S or PGS)
Workshop you'd like to register for.

Q. What do I do if I sign up for a workshop, but cannot attend?
A. If you register for a class and cannot attend, please notify the appropriate contact person as soon as possible.

 

Q. I'd like to take one of the Intermediate or Advanced level workshops. Are there any prerequisites?
A. Please note that many of the workshops build upon topics covered in earlier ones, so please check the workshop descriptions carefully.

 

Q. What is an "Open Session"?
A. From time-to-time we offer an "Open Session" in the TIS Training Rooms. Stop in anytime during an open session with your questions. If you have a project you are working on and you need assistance, please bring it with you. Please Note: If you are bringing work, please make sure it is on a CD, Flash Drive or e-mail the files to yourself. DO NOT BRING A FLOPPY DISK, the computers do not have a floppy drive.
