Word 2007 Workshops

Workshops and documentation is available for a variety of sessions geared for use of Word 2007. Click one of the links below for Spring 2009 faculty sessions (Brooklyn :: Long Island) and while you are on the page, check out the sessions for Excel 2007 and PowerPoint 2007 use as well.

Up to Speed With Word/Excel/PowerPoint 2007

As a follow-up to the popular "Getting Started with Office 2007" workshop, we are pleased to announce a new series of one-hour sessions designed  for experienced Office users who just need to learn what's new in Office 2007. These sessions, called "Up to Speed...", will be held throughout the Fall 2008 months on both campuses and will cover the significant changes in Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2007.

Familiarity with the new Office 2007 interface is recommended before attending these sessions
(basically... attend the Getting Started with Office 2007 session first, if you have not already). If you do not know how to perform basic tasks in Word, Excel or PowerPoint, do not attend these sessions. The "Up to Speed.." sessions were designed for the experienced Office user. Beginners and those not totally comfortable working in Office should attend the Word Basics, PowerPoint Basics or the Excel Managing Data workshops.

Complete workshop descriptions for these sessions can be found by clicking here and the complete semester schedule is available by clicking here.

Getting Started with Office 2007 Training Sessions (faculty & students)

Tabs, Ribbon, Dialog Box Launcher, Quick Access bar, Galleries, Live Preview, the Office Button, File Compatibility...

Sound familiar? Probably not, which is exactly why the trainers in the Technology and Information Services Department have created a 1-hour "Getting Started with Office 2007" training workshop specifically geared for faculty and students who need to use the new Office applications. The best way to learn more about Office 2007 (and the items listed above) is to experience it for yourself. If you plan on starting the semester with a PowerPoint presentation, or creating documents in Microsoft Word 2007, this session is for you!

Just One Hour Will Get You Up to Speed
It only takes an hour to learn about the basics of Office 2007. There are scheduled sessions throughout the semester on both campuses (see the complete list at the links below) so it is easy to find one that fits in with your schedule. This will be time well spent, because it will answer many of your questions about how Office 2007 works. You may attend as many times as you want.
