Training Documentation

Please note: Most of the documention below for the Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher) refers to use of Office 2000. All SJC computer labs and Smart Classrooms have been converted over to Microsoft Office 2007 as of the Fall 2007. You'll find many Office 2007 resources at this link. Training workshops and documentation for Word and Excel 2007 are currently in development and will be available soon. PowerPoint 2007 and other Office 2007 topics are listed below.

To view the documentation for each of the technology workshops, simply click the topic from the list below. A new window will open displaying the PDF version of the manual. You can browse the PDF using the Bookmarks panel or print it for offline viewing.

Using the Practice Files
Several of the topics refer to specific practice files. You can download the practice files if you would like to follow along with the printed steps. If there is only one file for a particular topic, right-click on the appropriate program icon to the right of the topic ( or or ). Choose "Save Target As..." (or "Save Link As...") and then save the file to a location you can easily find later. Make a note of the document location since you'll need to refer to it as you follow the handout.

If a topic uses multiple practice files, you will find them zipped together into one compressed zip file (). Detailed directions for downloading and unzipping the practice files can be found here.
