Blackboard is an e-Learning system designed to fulfill all of your online education needs. Blackboard is so easy to use, anyone can create a course without any programming skills. Your course Web site will be hosted on St. Joseph's College servers, where you and your students can access it any time, from any Web browser.

Office 2007 Workshops                    icon new
During the Summer of 2007, the Technology and Information Services department upgraded all computer labs and smart classrooms to Office 2007. During the upcoming Summer of 2008, all faculty computers will be upgraded to Office 2007. With a completely new user interface and new collaborative tools, Office 2007 is an incredible resource for St. Joseph's College. We are offering these 1-hour sessions to get you up to speed on the "cosmetic" changes in the new version and as an opportunity for you to learn about some of the new features of each program.

The best way to learn more about Office 2007 (and the items listed below) is to experience it for yourself. If you plan on starting the Summer or Fall semester with a PowerPoint presentation, or showing students a document in Microsoft Word, these sessions are for you!

Graphics Made Simple in Microsoft Office 2000                   
A picture can enhance a document by depicting an idea that may be difficult to describe or by making the document more visually appealing. There are some surprisingly powerful graphics tools built into each of the Office 2000 applications. The skills you learn in this workshop can be used in all of the Office 2000 programs. The goal for this workshop is to expose you to many of the image and drawing related tools in Office 2000 and learn how easy it is to create interesting and more visually appealing documents.

This workshop is for those faculty and staff who would like to learn how to save documents to a CD. Great for those who need to save large PowerPoint presentations.

Please note: This workshop uses the software called IBM Record Now to burn CD's.

Scanning Images and Text                                                                  
This workshop will teach you how to use the college scanners to scan in images and text documents to the computer.

Powering on the Video Conference Equipment                  
This workshop will teach you how to use the video conference room equipment in the Business and Technology Building in Long Island or St. Angela Hall in Brooklyn. How and where you turn it on, get connected to the other side and making sure you can turn it off properly.
